Nested Q element (nested short quotations) incorrectly rendered

Code example of nested quotations with the Q element from HTML 4.01, section 9.2.2 example on Rendering nested quotations is

<p>John said, <Q lang="en-us">I saw Lucy at lunch, she told me <Q lang="en-us">Mary wants you
to get some ice cream on your way home.</Q> I think I will get some
at Ben and Jerry's, on Gloucester Road.</Q></p>

Expected results (matching [preferably double] quote marks for outer quotation and matching [preferably single] quote marks for inner quotation matter here)

John said, "I saw Lucy at lunch, she told me 'Mary wants you
to get some ice cream on your way home.' I think I will get some
at Ben and Jerry's, on Gloucester Road."

This absence of support has also been explained and testcase-ed by Aaron Gustafson in his Support Q in IE.next Wishlist

Firefox 2.x, Firefox 3, Opera 10.00 alpha 1 build 1139, Konqueror 4.3.1, Amaya 11 build 20081216, Seamonkey 1.x, Seamonkey 2.x, K-meleon 1.x, Epiphany 2.22, Galeon 2.0.4 all pass this test.

This bug has been reported at connect's IE beta feedback as bug 339078.

Update: This bug has been FIXED in Internet Explorer 8 beta 2 (build 6001.18241) released on August 28th 2008. Otherwise, Internet Explorer 8 beta 2 PASSES this specific and particular testcase.
